The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

I found the book at the public library. There were a lot of books from OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS. As an English learner, I was looking for some books that might help me learn English. So I stood there and picked what to read. Well, I can say the authors on the shelf were famous and the books were looking interesting. Charles Dickens? ok, Mark Twain? I've heard of him, so on. but then I realized that I didn't decide this way. Therefore I just touch the book on the left edge of the shelf and started slide to another side of the edge. While I'm doing that, I just randomly tilted the 3 books to me. Now those 3 books are totally distinguished. That means It is easier now to choose a book. And then I just pick the books and looked. Two Mark Twain? ok. I know Twain because one of my favorite movies 'The Big short' in the film, they quote Mark Twain's say.

"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."

I liked that one, so I kept that in mind. Whatever, and also special part of these lucky choices is that I got two serial series. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. What a coincidence. Right? So I decided to take those 2 books. And one left. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Ok, I never heard of him. But when I look either side of these books, I felt some good feeling because the books that I decided to take were reading level 1, 2 each. Tom was a 1 and Huck was a 2(grade for the hardness of reading). And The Secret Garden was a level 3! What a coincidence again! I felt like "ok, new guy from level 3? I'm not afraid of you Mr. Burnett I will read you out!"

So far I explained how come I got to read the 3 English-texted books, and here is the review! The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn, now gets started. (One might be bothered why I'm starting with Huck, not Tom. It's because I liked Huckleberry more and I won't review the Tom.)

I'm born and raised in a city, Seoul Korea. So the background of the book was not familiar. But same time. I felt like innated nostalgia from its background. In there, people just live naturally. No other things, just do their jobs, fishing, eating, resting, napping, and sleep. I could say that they were freer than this day's people. But freedom is not for free. they were exposed to serious crimes such as murder, kidnap kind of things.

Our friend Huck was the freest and natural person alive. He does whatever he wants, eats, and sleeps whenever he wants. But he and his friend got lots of fortune, some kind widow adopts him and gives him fine clothes and make sure he goes to school. those things didn't fit Huck in. He is just uncomfortable with comfortable. Some months passing away, A accident happened. Finn's pop came to him and demanding his fortune! smart brained Huck was prepared for this time. Huck was given all his fortune to the judge. But might not that smart. He kidnaped any way.

This story is about the freest spirited man getting back his freedom. I liked the story because It felt so far away from nowadays. But those freedom and stuff are essential. We might miss something important because our eyes were blinded by unessential things.
